HARLOW LANDPHAIR JR.
, brother of the late Horace Landphair, of this city, passed away Thursday, August 13, at his home in Stockton, Ill. He made the trip to California during the gold excitement of 1849. He was born in Brookfield, N. Y., in 1820. He lived at Rockport, O., until 1838, when he went to Illinois. He was the uncle of Mrs. Edward Hadeler, Miss Mary Landphair of Painesville, Philo Landphair of Mentor, Mrs. Carrie Attwood of Willoughby, Ed Landphair of Perry and others in this vicinity.
JANE AMELIA (GATES) LANDPHAIR
, was born May 16, 1837 in Michigan. When seventeen years of age she came to Illinois. It was after that she married Geo. Senter and to this union two children were born. They were Charlie and George, the latter passed away a year or more ago. Several years after Mr. Senter's death she was married to Harlow Landphair. To this union four children were born. They were Martha, Sabra, Fanny and Harry.
Mrs. Landphair was a healthy woman and would have been 92 years of age on May 16. She had made her home with her granddaughter Mrs. Frank Hatton.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Sabra Flack and two sons Harry of Java Village, N.Y. and Charlie Senter of Terry, Mont. she leaves a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren besides a host of friends.
ERMA (ROWE) LELLE
, of 411 N. Whistler Ave. died in her home Friday evening after a short illness. The former Erma Rowe was born in Apple River, March 14, 1901, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Rowe. Her marriage to Jack Lelle took place Jan. 4, 1923. They had resided in Freeport for the past 30 years. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Harriett) Goodwin of Freeport; her mother, Mrs. Harriett Rowe of Mount Carroll; one sister, Mrs. Laureta Heiland of Freeport; and one grandson. Her father and two sisters died previously. Service will be in the Walker Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Charles F. Landwere, pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Warren. Friends may call at the mortuary after 5 p.m.
