ELINORE (McBRIDE) WUEBBEN
, 69, of Warren, died Tuesday at Freeport Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bartell Funeral Home, Warren with the Rev. Walt Lundsford of Lena United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Warren. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wuebben was born Aug. 31, 1921 in Rock Falls, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Ewert) McBride. She married Robert Wuebben Oct 21, 1943 in Rochelle. She had been employed at Swiss Colony, Monroe, Wis., Savanna Ordinance Chapel, Savanna, and most recently at Heritage Seed Co., Warren. She was an active volunteer.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Richard of Monroe, Wis. and Bruce of Elroy; two daughters, Linda Katzenberger of Gratiot, Wis. and Diane Embry of Warren; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Francis and William, both of Sterling, and Roger of Florida; one sister, Mrs. Anne Hay of Rock Falls.

HELEN M. (LOLWING) WUEBBEN
, 100, of Bethany Home, Dubuque, formerly of Menominee, Ill., entered eternal life at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Bethany Home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, Menominee, with her nephew, the Rev. LaVern Schueller, and the Rev. Michael Barry concelebrating. Burial will be in church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, where there will be a parish and St. Ann's Society rosary recited at 4 p.m.
She was born on Aug. 11, 1909, in Vinegar Hill Township of Jo Daviess County, daughter of Herman and Matilda (Rojemann) Lolwing. Helen was Menominee's oldest resident.
She married Elmer A. Wubben on Oct. 29, 1935, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Aurora, Ill.; he preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1990. She and her late husband farmed in Menominee Township until their retirement.
She was a member of Nativity BVM Parish and St. Ann's Society.
Helen enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, cooking and playing cards. She was an "Olympic grade cow milker" and a "Proverbs 31 woman."
Surviving are six daughters, Dorothy (Tom) Schlueter, of Dubuque, Jan (Michael) Valder, of Phoenix, Joyce (Arnold) Honkamp, of Dubuque, Esther (Victor) Soat, of Menominee, Ill., Eleanor (Jim Halsey) Dasenbrook, of McLean, Va., and Elizabeth (Earle) Peters, of Mankato, Minn.; three sons, Carl (Pat) Wubben, of Dubuque, Thomas (Terri) Wubben, of Export, Penn., and Dr. Robert (Diana) Wubben, of Neenah, Wis.; 44 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sons-in-law, Erwin (Pat) Schneider and Cy Schulting, both of Menominee, Ill.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Mary Kathryn (Erwin) Schneider, on Dec. 20, 1991, and Carol (Cy) Schulting, on June 4, 2009; two grandchildren, Heidi Honkamp-Myhre, on June 24, 1997, and David Schneider, on Aug. 5, 2006; four sisters, LaVita Pasbach, Veronica Schueller, Rosemary Oeth and Virginia Lock; and three brothers, Loyola Lolwing, Joseph Lolwing and Harold Lolwing.

OMAR C. WURSTER
, age 101, of Elizabeth, Illinois passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Derinda, Illinois, with Reverend Kurt Hansen officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Derinda. Friends may call from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. A Memorial fund has been established in Omar's honor.
Omar was born May 2, 1906 on the family farm in Woodbine Township, Illinois, the son of Christoph S. and Emile C. (Rath) Wurster. Omar attended Bethel Grade School in rural Elizabeth, Illinois. On January 24, 1936, Omar married Grace Eacker in Pearl City, Illinois. She passed away November 17, 2001.
Omar farmed all of his life in the Woodbine Township area. He very much enjoyed going to Stock Car races and Demolition Derbys. Omar was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Derinda, Illinois. Upon reaching the age of 100 years, Omar received a Happy Birthday card from the President of the United States signed by President Bush and his wife Laura. He also received Recognition from the State of Illinois celebrating his 100th birthday, with a letter from Jim Sacia, State Representative of 89th District Illinois.
Omar will be dearly missed by his daughter, Wilma Wurster of Elizabeth; one sister, Esther Hachtel of Rock Island, Illinois; and many neices and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife; parents; and siblings, Alvin, Raymond, Ruth and Morris Wurster.
LORRAINE ANN (RAAB) WURSTER
, 38, of Stockton , died Tuesday July 21, 1998 as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident. (Transcriber’s note: she was pronounced dead in Rockford , Winnebago County , Illinois .) A daughter of Wayne and Hazel (Bonnell) Raab, she was born December 31, 1959 in Freeport . She graduated from Stockton High School in 1978. On May 11, 1991 she and Thomas Wurster were married in Mount Carroll . She worked for Kelly-Springfield Tire Company. She had a love for animals, especially her dogs and horses, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She also liked antiques and garage sales. Surviving are her husband; her parents of Stockton; one son, Aaron Wurster of Stockton; one daughter, Abbie Wurster of Stockton; one stepdaughter, Katie Wurster of Hollandale, Wisconsin; one brother, Brian (Teresa) Raab of Mount Carroll; four sisters, Bonnie (Jim) Kuhse of Gratiot, Wisconsin, Rhonda (Tony) Holland of DeWitt, Michigan, Darla (John) Korth of Stockton, and Tina (Randall) Adolph of Mount Carroll. Preceding her in death were her grandparents and several aunts and uncles. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton , with the Rev. Arthur Stees of Derinda Trinity Lutheran Church in Elizabeth officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens . A memorial trust fund has been established for her children.
