Almeda Parker, daughter of William Andrew Walker & Etta (Stevens) Walker, was born October 8, 1921 in Johnson County, Illinois.
She departed this life Sunday morning, May 14, 2006 at 11:25 AM at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, KY.
At the time of her passing, Almeda had attained the age of 84 years 7 months & 6 days.
Almeda was united in marriage to Clellan C. Parker on September 23, 1939 in Charleston, MO. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2006.
Survivors include: A Daughter – Carole Shelton & her husband Larry, of LaCenter, KY; A Grandson – Chad Shelton & his wife Karen; A Brother – Lee Walker of Vienna, IL; 3 Sisters-in-Law; Nieces & Nephews.
In addition to her Parents & Husband, Almeda was preceded in death by: A Sister – Dean Newton; 3 Brothers – Ogal Walker, Virgil Walker, & Albert Walker.
Almeda was a homemaker. She had also worked as a waitress at Gage’s Restaurant & as a cashier at Thomas Convenience.
Almeda was of the Methodist Faith.
Almeda enjoyed fishing, quilting & was an excellent cook.
She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Almeda leaves her family & many dear friends to cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2006 at 2 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL. Rev. Raymond Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the Cypress Masonic Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 PM Monday evening at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
