Bobby Gene Thorne

Bobby Gene Thorne, age 71 years, a resident of rural Vienna, IL, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2003 at 1:47 p.m. at the Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion, IL.

Bobby was born March 21, 1932 in Belknap, IL. He was the son of Clella and Opal (Bost) Thorne. Bobby was united in marriage to Mildred Hester on December 21, 1955 in Vienna, IL. She survives.

3 Daughters: Cheryl Phillips of Brookport, IL; Beverly Hibshman of Elkhart, IN; and Barbara Kline of Elkhart, IN. 4 Sons: James Thorne of Ohio; Carl Thorne of Orlando, FL; Mike Thorne of Vienna, IL; and Doug Thorne of Vienna, IL; 16 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; 3 Sisters: Ruth Caraker of Vienna, IL; Alice Schultz of Midlothian, IL; and Norma Lane of Browning, IL. 1 Brother: Denny Skelton of Vienna, IL. Several Nieces & Nephews and Friends.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by an infant brother, Lloyd Douglas Thorne.

Bobby had been employed as a truck driver. He was a US Army Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
Burial will be in the Belknap Masonic Cemetery.
