Clifton E. Dunn Clifton E. Dunn, 71 of Carbondale, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, in Herrin Hospital. Clifton was born April 13, 1932, in Cypress, the son of Otis and Lillie Johnson Dunn. He married Betty Wilkins March 27, 1958, in Mississippi, and she preceded him in death Feb. 26, 2002. He worked as a brakeman for the railroad. He served in the U. S. Army. Survivors include a special friend, Elizabeth Smith of Carterville; two sons, Randy Eugene Dunn of Carbondale and Jeff W. Dunn of Goreville; one daughter, Cathy Prowell of Pittsburg; two stepsons, Steve Casper of Anna and Jerry Casper of Cape Girardeau; one stepdaughter, Betty Jo Boyd of Anna; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four sisters, Fern Mullinax, Marjorie Muhlenbien and Dorothy Kelley, all of Vienna and Lucille Bunch of Metropolis; one brother, Glenn Dunn of Fairfield; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded on death by two sisters, Edna Dunn and Marilene West, and three brothers, Paul, Weldon and Webster Dunn. Services will be at 10:am Saturday in the chapel of Hileman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tommy Monroe officiating. Interment will be in Cypress Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8pm Friday in the funeral home.
