Donald Taylor
Donald Ray Taylor, age 59 years, a resident of Overland Park, Kansas and a native of Vienna, Il passed away Saturday, December 13, 2003, near New Orleans, LA. He was born on February 2, 1944 in Vienna, IL. the son of Oren & Norma (JEFFRIES) Taylor. Survivors include; 2 Sisters - Peggy Vayette of New Athens, IL and Ruth Yoakum, and her husband Jim, of Iberia, MO; 2 Nieces - Valerie & Keith Cutright & Sandra & Bruce Marcus; a Nephew - Jeff & Beth Vayette; 3 Great Nieces - Taylor Vayette, Sarah Cutright, & Melissa Marcus; 2 Great Nephews - Scott Cutright & Ben Marcus; an Uncle - Wayne Jeffries; an Aunt - Gladys Darter. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by; His Step Mother - Pauline Taylor; Grandparents - James & Nora (O'NEAL) Taylor and Lewis & Maggie (TRAFFORD) Jeffries; a Brother - in - law - Ron Vayette. Donald was a 1962 graduate of the Vienna High School. He was a US Army veteran having served for 3 years. Donald retired after 34 years as an Account Manager from Norfolk Southern Corp. He lived in the St. Louis area prior to moving to Overland Park. Donald was a member of the Transportation Club of Kansas City, the Traffic Club's of St. Louis & Omaha. He was member of the American Legion Post 0105 in Iberia, MO. Donald was a member of the Vienna First United Methodist Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan (his favorite driver was # 6 Mark Martin). He also enjoyed bowling, traveling & cruising. Donald was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals Baseball & Kansas City Chiefs Football fan, often attending spring training camps. Donald was also an genealogist. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, December 18, 2003, at 11am at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Ed Hoke will officiate. Interment will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call from 6pm - 8pm Wednesday at bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 805 W.
