Gary James Blackwell

South Korea- Gary James Blackwell, formerly of Marion, passed away October 18, 2003 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend R. G. Null & Reverend Kenny Blumenstock officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday October 29, 2003 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Robinson Cemetery in New Burnside.


Mr. Blackwell born October 4, 1953 in Herrin, IL to James Blackwell & Alice (GOODWIN) Morris.

Survivors include mother and step-father, Alice Morris & Doyle Leverett; father & step-mother, James & Bea Blackwell; sons, William Blackwell of WV, Michael Blackwell and Matthew Blackwell of South Korea; daughters, Elizabeth & Shawn Groce of OH, Christy Payne of WV; grandchildren, Ashlynn Payne, Kayley Blackwell, & Kayla Groce; brother, Gregory & Tana Blackwell; sister, Betty & Charles Nance.


Mr. Blackwell was a Retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and served his country during Desert Storm.
