Geraldine Billingsley
Geraldine Billingsley, 72, of Goreville, passed away at 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Busby Chapel Church in Goreville, with the Rev. Kenneth Blumenstock officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 16, 2005, at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. Burial will be in Busby Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church, or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Billingsley was born Jan. 15, 1933, in Cobden, to Virgil and Leva (Gurley) Walker. She married Lavon Billingsley July 5, 1951, in Johnson County, he preceded her in death Dec. 12, 1980. Survivors include son, John P. Billingsley of Goreville; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Randall Phillips of Goreville; grandchildren, Jacqueline Dorsey of Goreville, Trista Phillips of Johnston City, Tara and Alex Peas of Goreville, Ginger Dorsey of Goreville, Jonathon and Adena Montgomery of Creal Springs, Michelle and Harry Morales of Goreville, Ashley Billingsley and Tyler Billingsley both of Lake of Egypt; great-grandchildren, James Morales, Noel Peas and Natalie Senter; brother and sister-in-law, Virgil and Kathy Walker of Paducah; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Fred Gale of Freeport; and special friend, Barbara Foster of Goreville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Rebecca Dorsey and Tracy Montgomery; and one sister, Bonnie Kerr. Mrs. Billingsley worked at Maytag for many years. She was a member of Busby Chapel Church in Goreville. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting afghans and spending time with her grandchildren.
