Hazel Ruth Trigg

Hazel Ruth Trigg, daughter of Edgar Earl Bailey & Bertha Leola (Cox)
Bailey, was born April 7, 1931 in the Cedar Grove community (Pope
County), Illinois. She departed this life unexpectedly Sunday morning,
September 12, 2004, at 10:48 AM at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah,
Kentucky. Ruth had suffered a heart attack earlier Sunday morning, while
attending services at the Glendale United Methodist Church. At the time
of her passing, Ruth had attained the age of 73 years 5 months & 5
days
Ruth was united in marriage to John Trigg on December 25, 1952 at the
Glendale United Methodist Church. He survives.
Other survivors include: a Son – Ronald Trigg of Norris City, IL; 2
Daughters – Carol J. & Brad Semler of Barlow, KY and Nancy J.
& John Widick of Champaign, IL; 4 Grandchildren – Justin Lynn,
Jaren Lynn, Jesse Widick, & Timothy Widick; 2 Step Grandchildren –
Robbie Semler & Jimmy Semler; a Sister – Juanita & Wayne
Hardin of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Brothers – Buel Lee & Doris Bailey of
Vienna, IL and Rev. John Bailey of the Glendale community (Pope Co), IL;
a Sister-in-Law – Wanda Bailey of Vienna, IL; Several Nieces &
Nephews.
In addition to her Parents, Ruth was preceded in death by: a Brother –
Laverne Bailey; a Sister-in-Law – Mildred Bailey; and a Brother-in-Law
– Maurice Wells.
Ruth was a 1949 graduate of the Pope County Community High School. She
was a homemaker. Ruth enjoyed gardening, flowers & traveling. Ruth
had visited many European countries while her husband John served in the
military.
Ruth was a loving & devoted Wife, Mother, & Grandmother. She was
a faithful & dedicated member of the Glendale United Methodist
Church.
Ruth leaves her family & many friends to cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, September 17, 2004, at 2
PM at the Glendale United Methodist Church. Rev. Dennis Fager, Rev.
Jerry Wells, & Rev. John Bailey will officiate. Interment will be in
the Gilead Cemetery, near Simpson, IL.
Friends may call after 5 PM Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
