Herman Hurley

Herman L. Hurley, 61, a resident of Vienna, and formerly of Goreville, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at the Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Herman was born Dec. 23, 1941 in Johnson County, IL. He was the son of Marvin and Virginia (THORNTON) Hurley and foster son of Herman "H. H." and Essie Hudgens. 

Herman was united in marriage to Lucretia (AUSTIN) in Goreville, IL. in 1968. She survives. Other survivors include one brother; Loy Hurley; several cousins and one nephew.

In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Gregory.

Herman had attended the Goreville Public School. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed collecting tools and knives. He had worked as a construction laborer.

Graveside services were held Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at 1:00pm at the Friendship Cemetery in Goreville, IL. Rev. Kevin McNeely was the officiate with graveside services.
