Passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 10:08 PM at the Massac
Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, IL.
Ray was born July 28, 1930 in Cypress, IL. He was the son of
Lionel Parr and Mary (Turner) Parr.
Ray was united in marriage to Shirley Elaine (Crowe) on April 15,
1954 at the Cypress Baptist Church in Cypress, IL. She survives.

Ray was preceded in death by:

3 Sisters: Mildred Hinkle, Lela Templeton, and Nadine Cooley
Ray was a 1949 graduate of Vienna High School. He was a Gas
Station Operator in Cypress with his father, and later in
Goreville, IL. He was also employed at the Avery Service Station.
Ray drove a school bus for the Cypress School District for five
years, and had also worked for the US Forest Service.
Ray was a member and deacon of the Cypress Baptist Church. Ray
enjoyed fishing and was an avid Cardinals baseball fan.
Ray was a loving and great father and husband, and was always
extremely devoted to his family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 27, at
Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Gary O’Neal will officiate.
Burial will be in the Cypress Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 – 9 PM Friday, August 26, at the Bailey
Funeral Home.
