Jerry Randall

Jerry D. Randall, son of Raymond D. & Patsy R. (Freeman) Randall, was born April 13, 1948 in Champaign County
Illinois. He departed this life unexpectedly Sunday morning, September 28, 2003, at 3:10 AM at the Heartland Regional
Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. At the time of his passing, Jerry had attained the age of 55 years 5 months
& 15 days.
Jerry was united in marriage to Roberta (Steele) on August 2, 1968 in Champaign, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include: His Mother – Patsy Randall of Tuscola, IL; a Daughter – Michelle Price, and her husband
Terry, of Charleston, IL; 2 Grandchildren – Tara Gianneschi of Vienna, IL and Tristen Gianneschi of Charleston,
IL; 3 Step Grandchildren – Chelsie, Terrika, & McKenzie Price; 2 Sisters – Rebecca Perry, and her husband Jim,
of Monticello, IL & Mary Ellen Kenny of Florida; a Brother – Michael Randall, and his wife Lisa, of Champaign,
IL; several Nieces & Nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his Father, Raymond D. Randall.
Jerry was a graduate of Champaign High School and received a degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Parkland
Junior College in Champaign, IL.
Jerry served from 1966-1969 in the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Jerry had served as a patrolman
for the Tuscola, IL Police Dept. He was employed from 1988-1991 as a Deputy for the Douglas County Illinois Sheriff’s
Dept. From 1991-1996, Jerry was a member of the Illinois State Police Southern Illinois Drug Task Force. Jerry
served as an investigator for the Hardin County State’s Attorney Office and Sheriff’s Dept. from 1996-1999. From
1999 – present, Jerry has been employed as a Deputy with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Dept.
Jerry was of the Methodist faith. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting & fishing.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, October 1, 2003, at 10 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Beggs-Gurley
VFW Post # 5222.
Friends may call from 4 PM – 8 PM Tuesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. A walk-thru tribute by police officers
will be conducted at 6:30 PM Tuesday.
