June Nowak
June Nowak, 81, of Goreville, passed away at 1:05pm, Monday, April 21, 2003 at home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, April 24, 2003 at the Goreville First Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Ferguson officiating. Interment will be held at Busby Cemetery, Goreville. Friends may call after 5:00pm, Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at the First Baptist Church, Goreville. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the First Baptist Church, Building Fund and will be accepted by the funeral home. June was born November 19, 1921 in Chicago to Jack and Mildred (Larson) Portschy. She married Alvin William John Nowak. Survivors include her husband, Alvin Nowak of Goreville; one daughter, Jacqueline Barton; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Melissa, Darcy, Kyle and Melanie; and three great-grandchildren, Keegan, Mya and Elise. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Pamela Denis. June was a member of the First Baptist Church, Goreville. During WWII Mrs. Nowak was employed at Zenith Radio. After which she devoted herself to her family staying at home to raise her children. June and Alvin raised cattle an their ranch just outside Goreville called; A. N. J. Ranch. June loved quilts and quilting. Meredith Funeral Chapel, Goreville is in charge of the arrangements. |
