Homer Leon Davis

Homer Leon Davis, son of James Homer Davis &
Rosa (Avery) Davis, was born June 4, 1928 in Cypress, Illinois. He
departed this life Monday morning, February 21, 2005, at 12:05 AM at
his home in Karnak, Illinois. At the time of his passing, Leon had
attained the age of 76 years, 8 months & 17 days.
Leon was united in marriage to Lucile (Sickling) on May 8, 1954 in
Pulaski County, Illinois. She survives. Other survivors include: a
Brother – Raymond & Derralene Davis of Karnak, IL; a
Sister-in-Law – Barbara Davis of South Roxana, IL; a host of Nieces,
Nephews, Cousins, other relatives & many friends.
In addition to his Parents, Leon was preceded in death by: a Brother
– Kenneth Davis, a Nephew – Tim Davis, & A Niece – Sharon
Davis.
Leon was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean
Conflict. He was a 48 year member of the American Legion Post # 0306
in Metropolis, IL.
Leon had worked as a Foreman at the Main Brothers Box Company in
Karnak. He was employed by and later was co-owner of Crouch Camper
Sales in Paducah, KY.
He was of the Baptist faith. Leon enjoyed traveling & camping.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, February 23, 2005, at
11 AM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL. Rev. Matthew Sickling
& Rev. Mark Sickling will officiate. Burial will be in the Cypress
Masonic Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday evening, February 22, 2005, from 5 PM – 8
PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
