Leone Mount

Leone Mount, daughter of Ned Murrie & Bertie (GILLESPIE) Murrie, was born December 27, 1908 in Johnson County, Illinois. She departed this life Sunday evening, February 29, 2004 at 6:00pm, at the Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna, IL.

At the time of her passing, Leone had attained the age of 95 years, 2 months, & 2 days.

Leone was united in marriage to William R. "Bill" Mount on November 11, 1925 in Vienna, IL. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1991.

Survivors include; 2 Daughters; Phyllis Taylor, & her husband Omer H. Taylor, of Vienna, IL & Betty Trouth of Vienna, IL; 6 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; a Sister; Mildred Anderson of Edwardsville, IL; a Daughter-in-law; Leona Mount of Anna, IL.

In addition to her Parents and Husband, Leone was preceded in death by a Son; Carl Mount & 3 Brothers; Joe Murrie, Thomas Murrie, & Robert Murrie.

Leone was a Homemaker. She was the former owner & operator of the Mount Shelter Care Home from 1968 - 1997. Leone had also worked as a Psychiatric Aide at the Choate Mental Health Center in Anna, IL. 

Leone was of the Baptist faith. She had also attended the Gilead Church , near Simpson, IL.

Leone loved horses and spending time with her family, especially her Grandchildren, "Leone was a kind, understanding and hardworking Lady."

Leone leaves her family and many dear friends to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, March 3, 2004, at 11am at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Ed Hoke & rev. Willard Murrie will officiate. Interment will be in the Gilead Cemetery, near Simpson, IL. Friends may call after 4pm Tuesday at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
