Lois Galeener

Lois Galeener, daughter of John Logan Veach & Rose Ella (Sams) Veach, was born April 12, 1912 in Vienna, Illinois. She departed this life Thursday morning, October 23, 2003, at 4:20 AM at the Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna, Illinois. At the time of her passing, Lois had attained the age of 91 years 6 months & 11 days.

Lois was united in marriage to Edwin C. Galeener on February 28, 1939 in Corinth, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1974.

Survivors include: a Son – George Galeener, and his wife Dawn, of Vienna, IL; a Daughter – Bess Ann Duane, and her husband Sam, of Tempe, AZ; 2 other Sons-in-Law: John Dunn and Jack Gray, both of Vienna, IL; Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren; several Nieces & Nephews.

In addition to her Parents & Husband, Lois was preceded in death by: 2 Daughters – Jean Dunn & Jackie Gray; 5 Sisters & 2 Brothers.

Lois was a homemaker. She had assisted her husband in the operation of the Vienna Nursery for many years.

Lois was a member of the Vienna First United Methodist Church.

Lois leaves her family & many dear friends to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, October 26, 2003, at 1:30 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Ed Hoke will officiate. Interment will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 PM Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Memorials may be made to the Vienna First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1349, Vienna, Illinois 62995-1349
