Loucinda (WYMORE) Davis Ramey

Mrs. Loucinda Wymore Davis Ramey known to all of us Dollie Davis Ramey was born Sept. 15th, 1868, died May 3rd, 1916, aged 48 years, 7 months, 18 days.

Loucinda Wymore was married to to James M. Davis, Dec. 25th, 1888, to this union three children were born - Charley Wesley, James Loyd and Gussie. The husband dies April 29th, 1898. Charles Wesley died Aug. 1898. James Loyd and Gussie survive their mother and were with her when death came. She had two sisters and one brother. Mrs. J. F. Davis, deceased; Mr. I. A. Sturgis of Metropolis. Ill., and Dr. J. W. Wymore, deceased.

She was married to Alonzo Ramey in 1900 who survives her. To this union one child was born - Harrie Ann, who died in infancy.

Mrs. Ramey united with the Church of Christ at Berea in youth and has been a faithful worshiper at her home congregation except a few years while living elsewhere, but she spent her last days in our midst.

Mrs. Ramey's life is known to us all. She was a lady of high ambition and moral standards, devoted to religion and everything that was good. A very sacrificing wife and mother. Her life has been a life of service to all around her. She was always ready to help and sacrifice for others. She has suffered for the last year, being confined to her bed much of the time but has borne her suffering so gently and patiently and always had hopes of recovering. She made a desperate fight for life; having the best medical aid available, nothing it seemed could relieve her permanently.

The loving Father has called one of his children from the suffering of this world to receive her reward in a Heavenly home prepared for those who serve Him. A home where no more pain can come. Where all is peace, love and joy with the Father of all the Universe.

Funeral conducted by Joseph Crawford at Berea Church.  1868 - 1916
