Mary C. McHugh

Mary C. McHugh, daughter of Albert William Schierbaum & Lula (WEBB) Schierbaum, was born November 3, 1918 in rural Tunnel Hill, IL. She departed this life Monday evening, August 4, 2003, at 7:55pm at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. At the time of her passing, she had attained the age of 84 years, 9 months, & 1 day.

Mary was united in marriage to Rev. Raymond McHugh on September 3, 1936 at Metropolis, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1998.

Survivors include; a Daughter - Norma Adami of Goreville, IL; a Special Daughter-in-law - Sharon Phillips, and her husband Terry, of Springfield, OH; Grandchildren - Chris & Rita McHugh of Cypress, IL, Rachel Moore of Charleston, MO, Daniel McHugh of Atlanta, GA, Rex & Betty McHugh of Auburn, KY, Scott Adami of East Peoria, IL,  and Jennifer & Ron McHenry of East Peoria, IL; Great  Grandchildren - Brent & Brian McHugh, Brian & Dustin Troutwine, Zachary McHugh, Nathan Adami, Nicole, Kelsey & Kaitlyn Reason, Alexis McHenry, Timothy & Heather Adami, John Adams & Angie Davis; a Sister - Minnie Goins of Grand Chain, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.

In addition to her Parents & Husband, Mary was preceded in death by; a Son - Daniel McHugh on July 20, 1975; a Great Granddaughter -  Angelic Melora McHugh; and 8 Brothers - Allen, John, Bill, Frank, Phillip, Dan, Robert, & Roscoe Schierbaum.

Mary was a homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, reading, sewing, & crochet. She had worked in the laundry department of the Hillview Care Center in Vienna, IL.

Mary was of the Pentecostal Faith. She was a dedicated & devoted Christian, faithful to her church & the ministry.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, August 7, 2003, at 11am at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. J. R. Woods, Rev. Terry Phillips, & Rev. Robert Schierbaum will officiate. Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Cypress, IL.

Friends may call after 5pm Wednesday at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois, 1110 N. Johnson St. Marion, IL 62959 or to the Heather Harper - Treat Memorial Cancer Fund, P. O. Box 98, Vienna, IL 62995. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
