Max Duer

Max Philip Duer, son of Charles Harmon Duer & Mary Elizabeth (Yokum) Duer, was born March 8, 1931 in Mankato, KS. He departed this life Sunday evening, August 7, 2005 at 4:53 PM at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, IL.
At the time of his passing, Max had attained the age of 74 years, 4 months & 30 days.


Max was united in marriage to Beverley Dean “Ann” (Murrie) on June 12, 1954 in Lincoln, NE. She survives. Other survivors include: 4 Daughters – Molie Oliver & her husband James of Tunnel Hill, IL, Joy Siebenshuh & her husband Paul of St. Charles, MO, Patti McGinnis & her husband Mike of Tunnel Hill, IL & Sharon Tarrant & her husband Russell of Shingle Springs, CA; a Son – Keneth Duer of Tunnel Hill, IL; 15 Grandchildren – Christopher & Mandi Oliver of Salem, KY, Angela & Jason Rose of Creal Springs, IL, Kacie & Luke Ruble of Terre Haute, IN, Allan Duer of Eldorado, IL, Eric, Brett, & Kyle Siebenshuh all of St. Charles, MO, Zachary, Kalie, Ethan, & Hannah McGinnis all of Tunnel Hill, IL, and Weston, Jolee, Natalie, & Belinda Tarrant all of Shingle Springs, CA; 3 Sisters – Lois & Russell Kerr of New Port Richey, FL, Juanita & James Rohrer of Clovis, CA, and Carol & Dick Trine of Pittsford, MI; 2 Brothers – Ira & Flora Duer of Abilene, KS and Jon & Gloria Duer of Tunnel Hill, IL; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives & many dear friends.


In addition to his Parents, Max was preceded in death by: 2 Brothers – Harry Duer & Charles Duer.


Max was a U.S. Army and U.S. Navy veteran. He had worked as a heavy equipment and self-employed dozer operator. Max had also operated a saw mill.


Max was a member of the Church of Christ (4th & Lewis). He enjoyed reading & fishing.


Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, August 11, 2005, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother Jim Faughn will officiate. Interment will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 PM Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
