Noah Dale Fairless

Noah Dale Fairless, son of Noah Fairless & Sarah J. (JOHNSON) Fairless, was born July 2, 1915 in Bloomfield, Illinois. He departed this life Thursday evening, July 10, 2003, at 9:30pm at his home near Vienna, Illinois. At the time of his passing, Dale had attained the age of 88 years & 8 days.

Dale was united in marriage to Violet Pauline Russell on June 5, 1937 in Johnson County, Illinois. She preceded him in death on January 26, 1981.

Survivors include; His Children - Iva Lee & Arthur Fegan II of Harrison, AR, Russell & Charlene Fairless of Jonesboro, IL, Nellie & Elmer Medley of Vienna, IL, Annette McBride of Vienna, IL, Paula & Steve Roberts of Vienna, IL, & Paul Dean Fairless of Vienna, IL; 14 Grandchildren - Robin & Dirk Johnson, Scott Fegan, Melody & David Tapprich; Arthur Fegan III, Rick, Fairless, Marty & Loretta Fairless, Marvin  & Angie Fairless, Danny Medley, Sheryl & Daniel Nutter, Carol Medley, Paul Dale & Rachel McBride, Jason Roberts, Joshua Roberts, Amanda & Bryan Horn; 19 Great Grandchildren - Janell Bidwell, Tara Bidwell, Jasmine Bidwell, Cullen Judge Tapprich, Jacob Fairless, Jonathan Fairless, Rusty Fairless, Kelsea Fairless, Kendra Fairless, Kaylie Fairless, Aaron Medley, Austin Medley, Chance Medley, Christina Medley, Shantel Nutter, Dakota Nutter, Nathan Kerley, Brandon Horn & Nathan Horn; a Brother - Curtis Fairless of Vienna, IL; 4 Sisters - Gail Harner of Vienna, IL, Mary Alice Rainbolt of Bourbonnais, IL, Verla Kerley of Vienna, Il, & Lola Boyd of Indianapolis, IN; a Sister-in-law - Rhudell Pearce of Vienna, IL; Many Nieces & Nephews.

In addition to his Parents & Wife, Dale was preceded in death by; a Son -  Robert Fairless; a Sister - Betty Jean Zeigler; & a Brother - Hoover Fairless.

Dale was a graduate of the Vienna High School. He was a lifelong farmer. Dale had also formerly worked as a Johnson Co. IL road maintenance employee, as well as performing extensive land survey work.

Dale was of the Methodist faith. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing.

Dale leaves his family & many friends to cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, July 13, 2003, at 2pm at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Robert Schierbaum will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, north of Vienna. Friends may call after 6pm Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Memorials may be made to the Lourdes Hospice, 616 Market St., Metropolis, IL. 62960. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
