A resident of rural Simpson , IL .
Passed away Saturday morning, September 23, 2006 , at 1:20 AM at the Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna , IL .

She was born April 1, 1925 in the Simpson Township ( Johnson County ) Illinois . Daisy was the daughter of Fred Murrie & Ida (Sharp) Murrie. Daisy was united in marriage to Virgil R. Clayton on November 27, 1943 in California . He preceded her in death on September 11, 1987 .

Survivors include:
2 Daughters – Kay Johnston, and her husband Sandy , of Jonesboro , IL
Jeanne Clayton of Simpson , IL
3 Grandchildren- Kim Johnston,
Chrystal Overturf,  Heath Smith.
5 Great Grandchildren - Peyton, Trenton & Micah Overturf,  Ethan & Gabriel Smith.  A Sister - Imogene Choate of Simpson , IL.  13 Nieces & Nephews.

In addition to her Parents & Husband, Daisy was preceded in death by:
4 Brothers: Edward Murrie, Ward Murrie, Lenis “Dude” Murrie & Sam Murrie. 2 Sisters: Golda Newton & Violet Bishop.

Daisy was a homemaker. She had also worked as the activity director at the former Mount Shelter Care Home near Simpson , IL .

Daisy was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was an active volunteer at the Hillview Health Care Center, where she enjoyed visiting with the residents on a regular basis and assisting with the bingo sessions on Friday mornings.
Daisy was a devoted member of the Gilead Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, September 25, 2006 , at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna . Rev. Bud McDannel will officiate.
Interment will be in the Gilead Cemetery .
Friends may call after 6 PM Sunday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna .
Memorials may be made to the Hillview Health Care Center (Activity Fund), 512 N. 11th St. , Vienna , Illinois 62995 or to the Gilead Cumberland Presbyterian Church, c/o Steve Kerley, 260 Gum Springs Road , Simpson , IL 62985 .
