Flossie Adams Russell

Pittsfield -- Flossie Russell, age 88, formerly of Marion, died at 10:40 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield.                Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 1999, at Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Busby Cemetery in Goreville.  Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.                                            Flossie was born on June 13, 1919, in Goreville to William and Etta (Thornton) Adams.                                                    She married Orville Russell on June 24, 1927 in Paducah, and he died on June 9, 1986.                                            She was a  homemaker and a member of the Cedar Grove Methodist Church in Lick Creek.                                Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and John Drew of Pittsfield; a son, Robert G. Russell of Lick Creek; two granddaughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Jacob Lowe of Pittsfield and Debra and John Moore of Harker Heights, Texas; a grandson and his wife, John Patrick and Petra Drew of Atlanta, Ga.; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Liggett of Woodstock, Nolan Lowe of Quincy, Sarah Lowe of Pittsfield, and Patrick Drew and Samantha Drew, both of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Mae Adams of Columbus, Ohio; four brothers, Ray Adams of Marion, Charles Adams of Lick Creek, Everett Adams of Tamaroa and Cecil Adams of Alton; and several nieces and nephews.                                Her parents, husband and infant son, Lee Russell, preceded her in death.
