KEVIN J. BENSON

GOREVILLE - Kevin J. Benson, formerly of Shiloh, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, in Heartland Regional Hospital in Marion.

Kevin was born July 7, 1962, in Belleville.

He was a United States Army Veteran and served in Operation Desert Storm.

He was a graduate of O'Fallon High School class of 1980. He also graduated Southwestern Illinois College in 1982 and Shawnee Community College in 1983.

He worked for Koerner Distributor in Marion.

He was a member of the NRA and a life member of VFW Post 1400. He was an avid wildlife enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alan G. Benson

Surviving are his loving mother, Theresa M. (Schomaker) Benson of Shiloh; two sisters, Kristi J. Pope and husband, Michael, of Woodridge and Kimberly T. Benson of Shiloh; nephew, Alan O'Brien; and nieces, Shelby O'Brien and Venna N. Benson.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, in Goreville United Methodist Church with Pastor Tim Woodard officiating. A private burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Jefferson Barracks, Mo.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society in Belleville.
