Woman dies of tetanus

Funeral services for Mrs Norva Edna Escue of Goreville will be at 2 pm Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Goreville.
Mrs Escue died at 6:30 pm Sunday in the Massac Memorial Hospital, Metropolis of tetanus.  She was 67.  Mrs Escue had been ill approximately two weeks, since a garden stick penetrated her leg.
She was born July 1, 1901 in Goreville to William J and Margaret Dunn Craig.  She attended the United Methodist Church in Goreville.
Survivors include sons, Charles F Smith, Palantine, Ted Smith of Paducah, KY, C C Foster of Fresno, Calif; 10 grandchildren, brothers M D Craig of Jackson, Mich; and Lee Craig of Goreville and sisters, Mrs Mintia Walker of Red Rock, Ariz; Mrs A L Kelley and Eula Craig, both of Goreville, and Mrs Hope Weeks of Pittsburgh.  Three husbands preceded her in death.
Presiding at the funeral services will be Rev Virgil Elmore, pastor of the church.  Buriel will be in the Buzbee Cemetery south of Goreville,  Friends may call after 5 pm today at the Van Natta Funeral Chapel, Goreville.
