Mrs. Eva Agnes Jesse, a
former resident of Goreville, Ill., passed away at her home in Michigan
City, Ind., at 4:30 a.m., Friday, January 17. She was 60
years of age at death. She suffered a stroke about 10:00
o'clock Thursday night, Jan 16th.
Mrs. Jesse was the daughter of Wm.
Preston and Leonora Russell Burklow and was born near Goreville on
January 15, 1898.
On October 30, 1915 she was married to
William Jesse, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Lloyd
of Villa Park, Ill.; two grandchildren, William and Thomas Jesse; one
brother, Owen Burklow of Michigan City; four sisters, Bernice Humphrey
of Michigan City, Dimple Martin and Mabel Hunsaker, both of Fresno,
Calif., and Violet Richey of San Fernando, Calif., and a host of
relatives and friends.
Mrs. Jesse was converted at the
Methodist church in Goreville many years ago.
