GOREVILLE - - Aileen Newton, 75, a lifelong
resident, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 1987, in Franklin
Skilled Nursing Care Unit in Benton.
She had been a postal clerk at the
Goreville post office and had worked as a clerk in Foster's Department
Store.
She was a member of the First United
Methodist Church, National Association of Federal Employees, National
Association of Retired Persons and Goreville Senior Citizens.
She was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star.
Born April 10, 1911, in Goreville, she
was the daughter of William P. and Frances J. Terry Henley.
She married Robert Ralls Newton in
Marion in 1933.
He survives, along with a son, Bill
Newton of Sherman; two grandsons; a niece; and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by a brother
and a sister.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at
the United Methodist Church, with burial in Cana Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at
Meredith Funeral Chapel.
