GOREVILLE
- Dennis Allen "Denny" Newton, son of J. B. Newton and Grethel
Dean (Walker) Newton, was born December 20, 1950 on the family farm
near Goreville He departed this life Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at
6:50 a.m. at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL.
At the time of his passing, Denny had attained the age of 56 years, 7
months & 19 days.
Survivors include: a
Brother - Jimmy Newton of Goreville, IL: 3 Sisters – Cheryl Newton
& Carla Newton, both of Goreville, IL, Patricia DuPont of Daytona
Beach, FL: a Nephew: Christopher DuPont of Daytona Beach, FL: Several
Cousins: His beloved cocker spaniel Pixie.
In
addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by: a Sister –
Diana Sue Newton: Paternal Grandparents – George and Betsy
Newton: Maternal Grandparents – Andrew & Etta Mae Walker.
Denny was a 1969 graduate of the Goreville High School. He had
been employed through the Citizen Employment & Training Act (CETA)
program as a city of Goreville maintenance worker. Additionally,
he was employed by Sullivan Trucking Co. in Goreville as a sub-contract
mower to care for the Lake of Egypt Power Sub-Stations. He, along
with his family, operated a mowing and lawn care service for many years.
Denny enjoyed watching television. He especially enjoyed John Wayne and cowboy western movies.
Denny leaves his family & many dear friends to cherish his memory.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Busby Chapel Freewill Baptist
Church, south of Goreville, with the Rev. Brent Schuetz officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, near Buncombe. Visitation will
be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church.
Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna is in charge of arrangements.
