A. J. "Jack" Toler

A. J. "Jack" Toler, 50, 1205 W. Main St., Marion, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday at his home.
        Mr. Toler operated a furniture store on North Jackson Avenue until he sold his interest recently.  He was an employee of the W. R. Lentz Furniture Co. until World War II and operated a store on North Market Street after the war to 1956.
        He was born in Goreville Aug 25, 1909.  He was married to Mildred Cash in Benton on Jan. 5, 1936.  He served 24 months in France and Germany in the infantry and Signal Corps in World War II.
        Mr. Toler was a member of the First Baptist Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
        He leaves his wife; parents Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Toler of Goreville; sisters Mrs. Ralph Newlin of Herrin, Mrs. Evelyn Throgmorton of Marion, Mrs. Paul Williams of Vandalia, Ohio, Mrs. R. L. Tate of Dayton, Ohio and Mrs. Ernest Martin of  Xenia, Ohio, and brothers Don of West Frankfort, Larry of Columbia, Mo., and Capt. C. G. Toler of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
        Services will be at 2. p.m. Tuesday in the Wilson Funeral Home of Marion. The Rev. Lee Swope will officiate.  Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home.

Contributor's note:  Jack Toler died on November 22, 1959.  Rosehill Cemetery is in Williamson County.
