Franklin B. Royster
died Nov 6, 1987 in Gattlid Hospital in Mebrase Park Chicago after an
extended illness. He was born April 19, 1921 in Johnson
County to John J. and Elizabeth Bell Royster.
He was married on June 12, 1947 to
Bonnie Russell at Goreville, She survives, along with a son Russell, a
daughter Kay Corsere and 2 grandsons all of Chicago. He is
also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Royster of Goreville, a brother
Bill Royster of Salem, a sister, Wanda Ruth Tischer of Kirtland.
His father preceded him in death also a
brother, Jack and a sister Mary Alice Doyle.
He became a Christian at the age of 20
uniting with the Goreville Baptist Church later to become a member of
the ME church at Vienna. He was a WW2 veteran, serving 4
years as an instructor in the Navy Air Force. He was a
retired school teacher, and for the past 12 years was employed at the
H.E.W. office in Chicago, resigning this year due to ill health.
Visitation was at 5 p.m. Tuesday
November 10 at Mitchell's Funeral Home in Marion. Services
were held Wednesday with burial in the Chapman Cemetery East of
Goreville.
