'Bob' Stroud, 60, of Mattoon passed away at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 9,
1999, at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Friendship General Baptist Church near Goreville, with the Revs. Dale Billingsley and Steven Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schilling Funeral Home in Mattoon and from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Bob was born in Ewing on Jan. 13, 1939, a son of Ruel V. and Clara E. Wilson Stroud. He married Juanita J. Perry on Nov 1, 1958. Survivors include his wife, Juanita J. Stroud of Mattoon; one son, Robin M. Stroud of Mattoon; one daughter, Renee Stroud, also of Mattoon; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Wilma Stroud of Goreville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth and Roland Jedlick of Mattoon and Donna Smith of Belknap; seven aunts, Eunice Zoole of Mattoon, Rosalie Sykes of Murphysboro, Agnes Jolly of Mattoon, Nellie Wright and Wilma Robertson, both of Carbondale, Imogene Barber of Kermit, Texas, and Fronie Wilson of Marion; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Stroud was a maintenance mechanic for General Electric for over 30 years. He attended the First General Baptist Church in Mattoon and was a member of the Prairieland Frontiersmen.
