Ethel (Russell) Toler

71, a resident of Goreville all of her life, died at the home of her
sister, Mrs. Fannie Escue in Goreville at 9:15 p.m., February
18. She had been ill for about four and a half years.
Born in Goreville, she was the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Andrew J. Russell. Her date of birth was August 25, 1889. She was a member of the Goreville Woman's Club and the Methodist church of Goreville. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. William Lirely officiating. Interment followed in the Terry (Cana) Cemetery, one mile north of Goreville. She is survived by her husband, Daniel L. Toler; sons, Donald L. Toler, West Frankfort, Ill.; C. G. Toler, Battle Creek, Mich.; Larry G. Toler, Grand Junction, Colo.; daughters, Mrs. Pauline Newlin, Herrin, Ill.; Mrs. Naoma Martin, Xenia, Ohio, Mrs. Evelyn Throgmorton, Marion; Mrs. Leanna Tate, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Mary Williams, Vandalia, Ohio; sisters, Mrs. Fannie Escue of Goreville; Mrs. Lem Lovelace, Herrin; a brother Lowell Russell, West Frankfort; 19 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Van Natta Funeral Home, Goreville, was in charge of arrangements. |
