(Henderson) Wright, age 85, a resident of Goreville, passed away
Tuesday morning, January 23 2007, at 1:15 a.m. at the Parkway Manor
Nursing Home in Marion, Ill.
She was born on September 25, 1921 in Goreville. She was the daughter of Frank Henderson and Almeda Maze Henderson. Melba was united in marriage to Ralph Perry. She was later united in marriage to John Wright. He preceded her in death in 1983. Survivors include, four sons, Rev. Tex and Mazie Perry of Goreville, Max and Cheryl Perry of Lake of Egypt, Wex Perry of Missouri, Frank and Barb Perry of Bradley, Ill.; a daughter, Judy and Mike Webb of Raleigh, Ill.; 25 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; six Great-Great Grandchildren; a brother, Paul Henderson of Batavia, Ill. In addition to her parents and husband, Melba was preceded I death by, a son, Rex Perry; three grandsons, Daniel Meyers, Scott Perry, and Timmy Perry, three sisters; three brothers. Melba retired after 15 years service as a housekeeper at the former Marion, Ill. Holiday Inn. Melba was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church near Goreville. She enjoyed reading. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, January 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church, near Goreville. Mrs. Wright's son, Rev. Tex Perry officiated. Interment was in the Friendship Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 1110 N. Johnson St., Marion, IL 62959 or to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 402 E. Plaza Dr., Suite 4, Carterville, Il 62918.
