Paul R. Wood, 79, of Goreville, passed away at 12:09 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

 Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Goreville, with Dr. Ron Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today Dec. 31, 2004, at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville.

Mr. Wood was born on March 31, 1925, in Staunton, Ind., to Louis and Lillye (Hallmark) Wood. He married Alta Summers on Nov. 19, 1997, and she survives.

Other survivors include daughters, Carolyn and Larry Foster of Columbia, Mo., Aneita Wise of Rockville, Ind., Jamie and Richard Short of Marion, Linda and Bob Farthing of Broken Arrow, Okla., Dea Dea and J.W. Miller of Sylachuga, Ala., Glenda and Tom Wagner of Lockport, Carol and Greg Munyon of Minooka; sons, Larry and Gaytha Pritchett of Johnston City, Jerry and Sharon Pritchett of Carterville, Jim and Paula Welch of Montrose, Colo.; grandchildren, Jerrod and Jenny Walker, Heather and Trevor Otlewski, Shane Mathews, Josh Mathews, Kelli and Kurt Abel, Jennifer and Chris Larrison, Matthew and Bridgett Short, Travis and Melissa Farthing, Steven and Rhonda Farthing, James and Stephanie Pritchett, Chris Pritchett, Jason Pritchett, Jerilyn and Gary Wiggel, Brent and Robin Pritchett, Jeff and Lunda Pritchett, Todd Pritchett, Tom and Leslie Wagner, Daniel and Becky Wagner, Tim and Summer Munyon, Joel Munyon, Becca and David Bowls, Elizabeth Welch, Mandy and Daniel Welch, John Welch, Mark Welch; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Anna Lee Wood and Bea Wood; one brother; two sisters.

Mr. Wood was a member of First Baptist Church in Goreville.
