Robert Trover


Robert Trover, son of Edward S. Trover & Esta Ann (Murrie) Trover, was born March 28, 1913 at Ozark, Illinois. He departed this life Thursday evening, October 23, 2003, at 7:50 PM at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home. At the time of his passing, Robert had attained the age of 90 years 6 months & 25 days.


Robert was united in marriage to Jean (Kerley) on October 6, 1934 in New Burnside, Illinois. She departed this life April 10, 1982. He was later united in marriage to June (nee Mott) Cogdill. She survives.


Other survivors include: a daughter – Jane & Jim Farrow of Belden, MS; a Son-in-Law – John Brown of Tunnel Hill, IL; a Stepson – Dr. Jim & Debbie Cogdill of Cape Girardeau, MO; 4 Grandchildren – Mark Brown, Scott Caples, Kenyon Caples, & Leah Cannon; 8 Great Grandchildren; a Step Granddaughter – Regina Nix; 2 Step Great Grandchildren; a Brother – Milburn Trover of Ozark, IL; a Sister – Olive Baity of Carrier Mills, IL; Nieces & Nephews.


In addition to his Parents and Wife, Jean (Kerley) Trover, Robert was preceded in death by: a Son – Robert “Bobby” Trover; a Daughter – Gail Brown; a Step Daughter – Linda Flick; 3 Brothers – Jack Trover, Edward M. Trover, & Paul D. Trover; & 2 Sisters – Wilma Beasley & Alice Trover.


Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a 50+ year member of Gurney Masonic Lodge # 778 AF&AM.
Robert was a farmer and fruit grower.
Robert was of the Baptist faith.

 He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.


Funeral services will be held Monday morning, October 27, 2003, at 10 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Dr. Jim Cogdill will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.


Friends may call from 5 PM – 8 PM Sunday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Masonic rites will be accorded at 7 PM under the auspices of Gurney Masonic Lodge # 778 AF&AM.
Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice
