Ruby Evelyn Manier

Ruby E. Manier, 67, of Marion, passed away peacefully at 6 p.m. Tuesday,
June 7, 2005, at the home of her brother, George Moake, with whom she and
her husband, John, were living with.
She was born in Marion, Jan. 28, 1938,
the daughter of Edd and Bessie (Wilson) Moake.Ruby was united in marriage
to
John B. Manier in Marion, at the home of John’s mother, May 12, 1956, and
together they have shared more than 49 years of marriage.
She never worked outside the home, because she always
found herself busy seeing to the needs of her husband, her extended family
and keeping up the home. One of her outside interest, after she had her
work done, was going out on Saturday to yard sales of the area. Her family
though was the most important area of her life. Since she never had
children of her own, she loved to help with and see to the needs
of the children of the family. It was said by one of her family members
that Ruby "Has done something with or for all of her younger family
members during her lifetime." Caring seemed to come natural to her.
In her passing she leaves
behind her husband, John of Marion; three sisters, Ailene Mezo of Energy,
Sarah
Craig of Johnston City and Sue Emery of Marion; two brothers and one
sister-in-
law, George Moake and Bill and Carol Moake all of Marion; a host of
nieces,
nephews, other extended family members and many friends.
She was preceded in
death by her parents; sister, Lula Harpstrite; and two brothers, Robert
and Bennie Moake.
