Steven J. Rushing

Steven J. Rushing, 50, died Monday, January 26, 2004 at 6:45 P.M. in Heartland Regional Medical Center. Steve was born April 20, 1953 to John W. and Margaret (Powell) Rushing in Joliet. He married Wanda Davis on September 12, 1975 and she survives in Creal Springs. 

Steve worked for 26 years at Consolidated Coal and currently was working for Crisp Container. Steven was a member of UMWA and attended New Horizons Baptist Church in Marion. 

Survivors include: Daughter – Angel Menser and husband Jerry, Jr. of Creal Springs Son – Jeremy Rushing and Fiancée Ashleigh Boswell of Crab Orchard Mother – Margaret Rushing of Crab Orchard. Three (3) Sisters – Virginia Rients of Bloomington, IL Barbara Roberts and husband John of Cottondale, Alabama Annette Richardson and husband Dan of McNabb, IL Brother-in-law – Frank Caporale of Campbell Hill, IL Mother-in-law – Irene Davis of Creal Springs Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law – Donald & Carolyn Davis of Creal Springs Several Nieces and Nephews Aunts and Uncles – Junior & Louise Powell of Stonefort Leo & Shirley Powell of Marion Harlan & Jean Ann Powell of Creal Springs Melvin & Shirley Powell of Creal Springs Phyllis & Bill Rodgers of Marion Justin Powell of Creal Springs Eugene Powell of Joilet Alice Cairnes of Wisconsin Helen Price of Joilet.

 Preceded by – Father, Sister – Susan Caporale, nephew – Matthew Adams, Father-in-law – William Davis.

 Funeral services will be Friday, January 30, 2004 at 12:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Schell and Rev. John Hartkopf officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson /Wise Cemetery in New Burnside. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
