Vern L. Williams Vern L. Williams, age 81, of Vienna, died Wednesday, May 29, 1985 at Hillview Health Care Center, Vienna. He was born October 24, 1903 in Perry County, the son of James S. and Alice (Senior) Williams. On October 15, 1931, he married Flossie Cockrum at Christopher. She survives. Mr. Williams is also survived by two daughter, Vernell Williams of Jefferson City, Missouri and Marietta Williams of Carbondale. He was preceded in death by a sister. Mr. Williams and his family operated a variety store in Vienna from 1933 to 1972. He attended Christopher Grade and High School and was a member of the Vienna First Christian Church. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 1, 1985 at 2 p.m. at Whitnel Funeral Home, Vienna. Bro. Ed Frost officiated. Burial was in Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.
