James Wesley Browning  aka. J. W. Browning aka "Wes" Browning.  My Great-Grandfather who died 3 weeks before my Grandmother Jeannette Browning Soper was born.

Wes was a merchant who had a store in Simpson and Reevesville.  He was preparing to move the store to Buncombe.

"Buncombe has a new store, J. W. Browning having moved stock of goods from Reevesville to the Henry Williams store house out there this week as to be handy to the new railroad.  We also learn that a new town is being laid out of W. J. Suit's land, where there will be a station on the new road.  There is also very likely to be a depot at Sam'l Glassford's four miles west of Vienna."
