Wilma Irene Etheridge

Wilma Irene Etheridge, daughter of John E. Bowman & Allie (Grisham) Bowman, was born November 26, 1912 in Dixon Springs, IL.

She departed this life Tuesday morning, October 18, 2005, at 9:28 PM at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, IL.
At the time of her passing, Wilma had attained the age of 92 years, 10 months & 23 days.

Wilma was united in marriage to Cleve Etheridge on March 14, 1934 in Dixon Springs, IL. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1976.

Survivors include: A Granddaughter – Nancy & Scott Hayden of Roseville, CA; A Great Granddaughter – Laurel Hayden; Nieces & Nephew – Jodi Miller of Dolphuss, KY, Ruth Rodd of Marion, IL, Helen Keller of Marion, IL & Jack Bowman of Marion, IL; A Great Nephew - Andrew Bowman of Marion, IL.

In addition to her Parents & Husband, Wilma was preceded in death by: A Daughter – Lulu Belle Etheridge Moore; A Grandson – Jeff Moore; 2 Sisters – Mabel Miller & Effie Delleplane; A Brother – Virgil Bowman.

Wilma was a homemaker. She had been an employee of the Hillview Health Care Center. Wilma had also provided babysitting in her home & had been an in-home care provider for senior citizens. Wilma was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.

A Graveside Service for family & friends will be conducted at 2 PM Friday at the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Rev. Steven Lindsay will officiate.
