To obtain copies of birth and death records in Kane County:

(Printed recently in a local newspaper)

"Certified copies of birth and death records of people who were born or died in Kane county may be obtained from the office of the
Kane County Clerk.
Kane County Government Center,
719 S. Batavia Ave.,
Geneva, IL 60134

Requests for copies should include the person's name at birth or death, the date of the birth or death and the place the event occurred. Copies of birth records may be obtained only by that person, a parent or other legal representative. Copies of death records may be obtained by a person having a personal or property right interest in the record or by a duly authorized agent.

NEW FEES: The base fee of getting a copy of a marriage license was increased from $4 to $9, as was the cost of copies of birth and death certificates. People getting those copies also pay $2 into the county's automation fund, which collects money to pay for future technology updates, so the actual cost of a getting a copy of a marriage license, birth and death certificate will be $11."
