At Ottawa, La Salle county, Illinois, on the 13th ult. of bulious fever, Mr. Horace B. Jarvis, formerly of Cooperstown, Otsego county, N.Y., aged 29 years.

Thomas Jepson, (better known as English Tommy,) of this place, was drowned on Sunday last while attempting to cross Indian Creek with an ox-team. After floating some distance down the stream, the oxen got ashore with the team, but Mr. J., by some means or other, was thrown from the wagon and perished. His body was not found until yesterday morning, when it was seen floating down the river at this place, and was immediately brought ashore and interred.

The funeral of Mrs. Tillery Johnston was largely attended at the Congregational church last Sunday. Services conducted by Rev. H. Avery, assisted by Elder Russell. Deceased had been a resident of Cedar Point for nearly 20 years past. She leaves a husband, five daughters and one son, all grown up. Her age was 56 years.

Mr. Jones of Earlville, Ill., while using a crow-bar to adjust some machinery in a corn-sheller running at full speed, had the crow-bar driven through his body, causing probably fatal injuries.
