BETTY J. (THOMPSON) HAMILTON AGGEN , 74, of Nelson, died on Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999 at KSB Hospital in Dixon. She was the former manager of Speigels and Sears Catalogue Sales. Mrs. Aggen was born Nov. 25, 1924 in Reinbeck, Iowa, to Walter and Gertie (Hildebrand) Thompson. She married Leon Hamilton. He preceded her in death. She then married John A. Aggen on July 24, 1959 in Sterling. She was also preceded in death by two sisters. She was the former clerk of Nelson Township, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon. Survivors include her husband of Nelson; two sons, Roger (Janice) Hamilton and Walter (Christine) Hamilton, both of Nelson; two daughters, Nancy (Thomas) Wilder of Nelson and Dixie (William) Weitzel of Dixon; one stepdaughter, Candy (Dennis) Gipson of Rock Falls; two sisters, Dorothy (Ray) Dimmig of Harmon and Helen (Barney) Adamian of Indialantic, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Ronald B. Ferrell, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
