GLENN W. IKENS , 89, of rural Amboy, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, in Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Mendota. Funeral Services were on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., in the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home, with Robert Hughes, Elder, officiating. Burial was in Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation was Monday, March 29, 2004, in the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Ikens was born April 16, 1914, in Amboy, the son of George and Lillie (Graf) Ikens. He married Mae Woodrow in Dixon on Oct. 16, 1933. She preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 1981.

Survivors include three daughters, Bettie Swarts of Indianola, Iowa, Marie (Robert) Hopkins of Stillman Valley, and Ruth (Ronald) Dewey of Dixon; one son, Dale Ikens (Janet Hoover) of Dixon; 17 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dora Abbott, a brother, George Ikens Jr., and sisters, Eula Ikens and Eva Myers. He farmed the farm on which he was born and lived all his life. He was also a musician. He was a member of the Mendota Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.
