Note From Kay Harris: Ransom Barnes died on January 27, 1859. The date of letter was February 7, 1859. We visited the Lee County court house in June 1998, that is when I got the copy of his will. From what I remember it was folded in a way that if they opened it, it would crumble. The office personnel didn't want to risk further damage and neither did I. I think I wrote down what the rest of it said but I could not find it when I returned home.
