We announce today the name of Mr. B. H. Cassell as a candidate for aldermanin
the fifth ward. Mr. C. has seen service in this capacity in the former years,
and if elected will look faithfully after the interests of his constituents.

First District Primary Meeting
Pursuant to a call of the chairman of the Republican, district committee
of Decatur township, the Republican voters of said district met at Carroll
hall, on Monday, Sept. 13, 1875, at 2 o'clock. The meeting was called to
order by the chairman, when on motion B. H. Cassell was appointed Secretary.
On motion a committee of three, consisting of B. H. Cassell, D. L. Hughes
and John McEvoy was appointed to nominated suitable persons as delegates
and alternates.

Mr. G. M. Danley was secretary of the Republican primary meeting held
at Niantic. The best of feeling prevailed and A. W. Wells and D. H. Claypool
were elected delegates to the county convention.
