Mrs Jennie Bascom, widow of the late Rev. Naaman Bascom, passed away at her home in Vandalia Sunday Evening. She
will be remembered by the older people of Kinmundy. Her husband havinng been pastor of the Methodist Church
there at one time, and in later years a guet often times in the home of Mr/Mrs F. O. Grissom, Mrs. Grissom being
her neice. Mrs Bascom would have been 89 yrs. old on wk from the time of her death. (no date)
A telegram to the Boggs Funeral Home from Jacksonville, FL. this morning announced the death of Mrs. Omar Burge which
occurred there on Mon. Evening. The remains will arrive in Centralia at 1 AM Fri. and will be taken to the
funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the Romine Presbyterian Church Fri. afternoon with Dr. R.W.
McChesney of cedarvill, Ohio officiating. Mrs. Burge was, before her marriage, Miss Elma McLaughlin, daughter of Mr./Mrs Joseph McLaughlin
of Raccoon Township. She was born March 7, 1894 and was educated as a teacher, 4 years of her teaching beig
in the schools of Centralia........ (no date)
Arthur F. Brubaker 61, died Monday morning at 1 AM at the Salem Community Hospital where he had been a patient
for the last month. The body was taken to the McMackin & Son Funeral Home where it remained until Tuesday
when services were conducted from the Summit Prairie Baptist Church in Stevenson Township. Rev. joh Hamerson,
past of the New Bethel Presbyterian Church officiated at the servicies and interment was made in the cemetery near
the church. Mr Brubaker was born in Stevenson Township were he lived until moving to Salem 15 yrs ago.
He was a son of Noah and Catherine Hite Brubaker.......(Nov. 27,1933)
