Benj. A Lovejoy 79, died Thursday evening of last week at 7:30 at his home on South Franklin St., after an illness of about a month's duration.  Mr. Lovejoy was born in St. Louis, but had spent practically his entire lifetime in Salem and vicinity where he was well known and admired by a host of friends.  He is survived by two daughters and one son .  Funeral services were  conducted on Saturday afternoon from the Hancock Funeral Home with Rev. H. C. Temple of the local Presbyterian Church Officiating.  Interment was made in the Fredonia Cemetery, Northwest of Salem.
