BATH - Clinton "Doc" Boyer, 73, of Bath, Ill., died at 7:36 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at his home. He was born April 25, 1934, in Ellsinore, Mo., the son of Charles P. and Oma (Jett) Boyer. He married Deloris Ann Richardson on Dec. 26, 1956, in Chandlerville, Ill. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Cathy (David) Julius of Rolla, Mo., Kevin (Micheale) Boyer of Havana, Ill., and Carol (Danny) Gallagher of Athens, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Jenni (Chad) Gaub, Michael Witte, Alicia Lewis, Klint Boyer, Brett Driver, Klayton Boyer, Abigail Gallagher, Kassie Boyer and Asher Gallagher; two great-grandchildren, Meaghan Boyer and Morgan Albert; and two stepgrandchildren, Kimmie Wadsworth and Allie Wadsworth. Also surviving is one sister, Daisy Moore of Farmington, Ill.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Clinton served in the U.S. Army from December 1956 through December 1958.

He was an automotive repairman at several garages around Havana, including Weaver Motors and B & B Motors. He worked for International Harvester in Canton, Ill., from September 1966 until he was laid off in 1982. He began working for Navistar in Springfield, Ohio, in 1988 and retired from the Urbana, Ohio, plant in April 1994.

Clinton was a member of the AF&AM Lodge 88 for 32 years.

He was of the Baptist faith and most recently attended Bethel Baptist Mission Church in Bath, Ill. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. The Rev. Vince French will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Bath Cemetery.
