Emma Jane Darling

Emma J. Darling, 76, of Bath, died Wednesday, February 7, 1951, at her residence following a long illness.

Surviving are three sons, William Wallace of Bath, Hugh Darling of Bloomington, John Darling of Topeka; three daughters, Marguerite, Bath, Mrs. Mary Park of Bellevue, Neb.; and two brothers, Lem Howard of Sullivan, Mo., and Samuel Howard of Claremore, Iowa.; three sisters, Mrs. Della Bailey, Claremore, Iowa, Mrs. Ola Williams of Georgetown and Mrs. Mayme Carlson of Chicago.

Private funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 11 at the Lintner Funeral home in Chandlerville with Joseph W. Hobbs officiating. Burial was made in Bath cemetery.

Milen L. Darling

Mason County Democrat, February 6, 1914

Milen L. Darling was born at Kerschocton, Ohio, in the year of 1857. He came to Schuyler county, Ill., with his parents when only 12 years of age. Sixteen years ago he came to Bath and engaged in the fish business and has resided in that town continuously till the time of his death.

In 1902 he was united in marriage with Emma Howard Wallace, to whom were born six children. They are Hugh, Marguerite, Mary, Elizabeth, Catherine and John Darling.

The decedent passed away at the Morbury sanitarium in Jacksonville, January 25, 1914. Funeral services were held from the late residence on Tuesday, January 27, conducted by Rev. Pullum of the M.E. Church and internment was made in the Bath cemetery.
