Ethel C. Howard, 86, resident of The Elms, Macomb, formerly of Bushnell, died at 10:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at the nursing home.

She was born Dec. 10, 1915, in Mason County, daughter of John Edward and Cora Brown Kolves.

She married Earl Hill Dec. 15, 1936, in Forest City. He died in Feb. 1967. She married Ray Howard Nov. 17, 1969, in Fiatt. He died in June 1988.

Surviving are two sisters, Sarah Wheat and Dorothy Wheat, both of Mason County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters.

She worked as the telephone operator in the Fiatt exchange for Bell Telephone for many years, as a postal clerk in the Fiatt Post Office for several years, as a nurses aide at the Mason District Hospital for two years and retired from Dana Manufacturing in Havana after 20 years.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Broady, officiating

Burial was in Fiatt Cemetery.
